WEB COPY ©EVEQUE 4.3.3 Throwing a Javelin Ball The javelin ball is a little bigger than a tennis ball but with the additions of a special finger grip and weight. It is predominantly used by javelin throwers during indoor winter training sessions.

WEB COPY ©EVEQUE 4.3.4 Throwing a Soft Javelin or Plastic Javelin The use of either soft javelins or plastic javelins is recommended as they can be used safely both indoor and outdoor for all practice requirements. The illustrations below indicate where the respective javelins should be held to achieve maximum throwing distance. When throwing these javelins the palm of the hand should be facing upwards to ensure the correct flight of the javelin.
