3.4 Partner Work
Partner work can also be incorporated into the Warm-Up routine, however the coach must remain vigilant if using these exercises as injuries can easily occur if young athletes do not adhere to the instructions. The following exercises will be of most benefit if the young athlete is partnered with someone of similar height and build. Throwers’ Roll This exercise should be performed slowly five times in both directions and it is also a good test of co-ordination. WEB COPY ©EVEQUE
Pushing Circle The young athletes should stand facing each other at approximately arms length apart. They should then place their hands on each other’s shoulders and lean forwards taking the weight. Encourage them to drive with their legs to push their partner and slowly move their feet and body in either a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction to circle round. WEB COPY ©EVEQUE
